As we near the end of 2016, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued dedication to your patients, to the field of optometry, and to our company. We deeply appreciate your continued collaboration and insights you provide as it helps us identify and bring to market new enhancements and innovations to meet your patients’ needs.

Over the past year with your support, we’ve been able to launch several new advancements and initiatives, which include:

  • The launch of Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses providing presbyopic patients with the company’s innovative MoistureSeal® technology, which delivers exceptional end-of-day comfort, with the proven 3-Zone Progressive™ design;
  • Our recent launch of the ONE by ONE recycling program, which allows you and your patients to properly recycle used blister packs, top foil, and contact lenses for the first time through our collaboration with TerraCycle®, a world leader in the collection and repurposing of hard-to-recycle post-consumer waste;
  • The introduction of the PreserVision® AREDS 2 Formula + Multivitamin, offering patients the recommended formulation from the AREDS2 study with other essential vitamins and minerals typically found in daily multivitamins to make it simpler for them to take supplements and reduce the number of pills taken each day;
  • The establishment of the Bausch + Lomb Specialty Vision Products Business, which is dedicated to fulfilling the growing needs of the customized lens market and introduced to market in 2016 the Zenlens™ scleral lenses in a new 28 lens set format;
  • The unveiling of a new enhanced online rebate program to provide your patients a user-friendly contact lens rebate submission process as well as opportunity to use a portion of the rebate to directly support Optometry Giving Sight, a global foundation dedicated to preventing blindness and impaired vision.

Looking ahead to 2017, we’re excited to bring you even more updates and enhancements across our portfolio. These include:

  • Completion of our full family of products with toric lenses for Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® and Biotrue® ONEday contact lenses to offer your patients with astigmatism new monthly and daily lens options for exceptional end-of-day comfort;
  • Expanding the parameters of Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses to allow you to provide even more of your presbyopic patients with this outstanding multifocal option;
  • Continuation of the B+Lieve™ meeting platform with new training and educational events and programs designed to provide you with highly-relevant content and first-hand experiences; meetings where you will learn directly from our team of professional affairs, medical affairs, R&D members as well as hear clinical insights from your peers;
  • Providing you additional patient sampling support with incremental healthy start kits for Biotrue® multi-purpose solution (MPS), which has the highest loyalty metrics among branded MPS brands and has grown to become #1 in share of patient households among multipurpose solution product offerings;
  • A national consumer campaign in support of the ONE by ONE recycling program to help drive patients into eye care professionals’ offices that are verified contact lens recycling centers (register your practice, here);
  • The national broadcast of two new TV ads, one for PreserVision® AREDS 2 Formula eye vitamins and supplements and another for Soothe® XP eye drops;
  • The second annual Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) consumer awareness campaign in February in honor of National AMD Awareness Month to help spread the word about eye health and AMD.

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting eye health and safety, we will continue to support a variety of initiatives and organizations, including Optometry Giving Sight and the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Annual Contact Lens Health Week, which help to elevate and raise awareness of the importance of quality eye care. In addition, we are continuing to encourage the FTC through our participation in the Coalition for Patient Vision Care Safety, to adjust its proposed updates to the 2004 Contact Lens Rule to ensure our industry’s collective patient safety concerns are adequately addressed. We will also continue to invest in innovations that help improve your patients’ contact lens experience.
