Vitreoretinal surgery is the treatment of disorders related to the retina, vitreous and macula. Uveitis is an inflammation of the uvea (or uveal layer) – the middle layer of three that make up the eye. It is a treatable condition; however, without proper treatment, it can lead to much more serious conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, or retinal edema.
