Flemming Ornskov, M.D., MPH, is corporate vice president and global president, Pharmaceuticals, for Bausch & Lomb. He was named to these posts in 2008. He is responsible for the company’s prescription pharmaceuticals and generics, as well as its general eye health and vitamins businesses.
Most recently, Dr. Ornskov was first chairman, then CEO and president of LifeCycle Pharma, an emerging cardiovascular and transplantation specialty company. Prior to this, he served as CEO and president of biotech start-up Ikaria, Inc.
From 2002 to 2005, he was president of the Ophthalmics Business Unit for Novartis. Prior, he led Novartis’ U.S. cardiovascular franchise. Dr. Ornskov has also held multiple leadership positions at Merck & Co.
He has several board positions, including serving as chairman of the board of Santaris Pharma A/S and Astion Pharma A/S..
Dr. Ornskov received a M.D. degree from University of Copenhagen, a M.B.A. degree from INSEAD and a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. He was born in January 1958.
