- Does this material need to be plasma treated?

No, Boston XO2 is inherently wettable and does not need to be plasma treated. Boston XO2 can, however, be plasma treated if desired.
- Is this material approved for extended wear?

No, Boston XO2 is cleared for daily wear only.
- Does this material have a UV inhibitor?

Boston XO2 is available with and without a UV inhibitor.
- What are the indications for this material?

Boston XO2 is indicated for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia. In addition the lens may be prescribed for the management of irregular corneal conditions such as: keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, following penetrating keratoplasty or refractive (e.g. LASIK) surgery.( Boston XO2 is also indicated for daily wear in an orthokeratology fitting program for the temporary reduction of myopia of up to 5.00 diopters in non-diseased eyes.)
- Do lenses made with this material need any special lens care solution products?

No. Boston® Simplus®, Boston Advance® or Boston® Original solutions can be used with Boston XO2.
- When should I recommend this material to patients?

Boston XO2 makes an excellent option for any GP patient but especially those requiring higher oxygen delivery. Boston XO2 has a unique chemistry making it highly stable and wettable so it can be recommended to just about anyone.
- Is this material a good choice for specialty lens applications like presbyopia, keratoconus or post refractive surgery?

Absolutely, the Boston XO2 hyper-oxygen permeability along with its stability and wettability makes it a great choice for these applications.
- Is this material approved for Orthokeratology?

Boston XO2 is cleared for Daily Wear Orthokeratology. It is available in both red and yellow tints like Bausch & Lomb Boston® XO or Bausch & Lomb Boston® Equalens® II.
