Bausch + Lomb Announces Expanded Low Add Power Range for Biotrue® ONEday for Presbyopia Contact Lenses

Contact Lens Low Add Range Now Available from +6.00D to -9.00D (0.25D steps)

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, today announced its Biotrue® ONEday for Presbyopia (nesofilcon A) contact lenses are now available in an expanded power range.

Since the initial launch of Biotrue ONEday for Presbyopia in June 2014, it has been available in low add powers between +3.00D and -6.00D (0.25D steps). The expansion now includes +6.00D to -9.00D (0.25D steps), helping to make BiotrueONEday for Presbyopia contact lenses available to more multi-focal patients throughout the most common power ranges.
The Biotrue ONEday for Presbyopia contact lenses combine the breakthrough bio-inspired material HyperGel™ of BiotrueONEday contact lenses, with Bausch + Lomb’s 3-Zone Progressive™ optical design used in PureVision®2 multi-focal contact lenses for Presbyopia, and are the first daily disposable multifocal contact lens from the Biotrue® ONEday family of products.

“I’m pleased to have the Biotrue ONEday for Presbyopia contact lenses in the expanded low add power ranges, so I can provide more of my patients a daily disposable contact lens option with advanced multi-focal technology,” said David Geffen, O.D., from La Jolla, Ca. “I’ve found the Biotrue ONEday for Presbyopia contact lenses to be very easy-to-fit and have helped many of my presbyopic patients feel very satisfied in both the overall fit and comfort level they experience throughout the day. My patients are also enjoying that they can see at all distances with a lens that matches the moisture level found in their eyes.”

Featuring a next generation 3-Zone Progressive design, along with bio-inspired HyperGel material, the new lens provides comfortable vision throughout the day, and exceptional vision across near, intermediate and distance. The bio-inspiredHyperGel material is designed to work like the eye by matching the cornea’s water content and mimicking the lipid layer by using a surfactant-enriched lens surface to retain moisture and shape throughout the day.

Additional high add powers from +6.00D to -9.00D (0.25D steps) are expected later this year.
