Bausch + Lomb Retina Portfolio Additions, Sales Expansion, & ASRS Activity

August 4, 2016

Dear Eye Care Professional:

It’s been less than a year since we acquired Synergetics® USA, and innovation at Bausch + Lomb Retina is moving full speed ahead and accelerating, fueled by the expert, dynamic and agile team created by the fusion of our two outstanding organizations. As we look forward to the upcoming American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) meeting, where we hope you will experience, share and innovate with the new Bausch + Lomb Retina team, we wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on our progress.

We’re investing in innovation: The combination of Bausch + Lomb and Synergetics® has helped us to create a dedicated R&D team focused solely on bringing retina innovations to market.

We’re introducing cutting-edge products and making improvements to our existing portfolio: We recently announced the availability of the Illuminated Directional Laser Probe that adjusts from straight to a curve of 85 degrees. We’ve also updated the VersaVIT™ software; increasing the maximum vacuum to 600mmHG, adding an intuitive color-coded interface, as well as an automated reflux function. The X Surgical Pack for Stellaris® PC is also now available, which will allow your staff to set-up quickly with intuitive tubing layout and system connections.

We’re maximizing the combined assets of our organization: All standard laser probes and endoilluminators formerly sold by Synergetics® are now fully compatible with Stellaris® PC vision enhancement systems. These include our Directional Laser Probe, Curved Laser Probe, Diffuse Wide Field Light Pipe, Midfield Light Pipe, and Vivid Chandelier.

We’ve expanded our support with a retina-only focused sales team: We are committed to providing you with the highest level of customer service. With the Bausch + Lomb and Synergetics® sales team now fully combined, we are pleased to share that we have built a robust team of dedicated individuals that have one singular focus; supporting Bausch + Lomb customers in the retina space. This team looks forward to working with you, to presenting our latest technologies, and addressing the specific needs of you and your practice.

We’re launching more innovations at ASRS and beyond: We are looking forward to showcasing many of our new innovations including some that are yet to be announced at the ASRS meeting in San Francisco next week. We invite you to join us at our booth (#103), where, for the first time at a major congress, we will have a wet lab where surgeons will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our products.

Like you, we are committed to driving the continuous evolution of retina surgery, and we are making significant investments to ensure that we will do just that. We’re routinely communicating with surgeons like you, to understand where there may be opportunities in retina and how we can best optimize current technologies to help you grow your practices and improve patient care. As always, we are grateful for your partnership, which helps us ensure that the innovations we are delivering are not only meeting but exceeding your needs and expectations. I welcome you to send any questions, comments or ideas to me at

I hope to see you in San Francisco.

Best regards,
