Biotrue uses hyaluronan (HA),
a lubricant found naturally in tears and the corneal epithelium to keep lenses moist

HA has many benefits for the eyes

  • It forms a free-flowing network on the lens surface – attracting water to envelop lenses in a moisture-rich cushion

  • It helps stabilize tear film and reduce friction1

The HA in Biotrue helps envelop lenses in a moisture-rich cushion to keep lenses moist for up to 20 hours2

Compared to other brands, the wetting agents in Biotrue can be detected on the lens throughout the day3

In vitro studies evaluated the rate of release of sodium hyaluronate (HA), a conditioning agent in the Biotrue multi-purpose solution, from both conventional and silicone hydrogel contact lenses over a twenty-hour time period. HA was adsorbed on all traditional and silicone hydrogel contact lenses tested upon soaking in the solution overnight. HA is then released from the lenses throughout at least a twenty hour time period when rinsed with Hank’s balanced salt solution at a rate mimicking tear secretions. The in-vitro performance of Biotrue multi-purpose solution suggests that it will provide lens conditioning throughout a twenty hour time period. 3.
