ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- Bausch + Lomb Storz® Ophthalmic Instruments is launching several new products to expand its line of single-use vitreoretinal instrumentation in the United States. The additional products extend the single-use line to include a broad range of 23- and 25-gauge vitreoretinal instrument designs.
The first new item available is a Passive Aspiration Handpiece, product number SUJ04 for 23-gauge and SUJ05 for 25-gauge. This instrument is packaged ready for use with an attached soft tip cannula for passive aspiration of fluid during intraocular procedures. The soft, silicone tip of the cannula is designed to provide atraumatic aspiration capabilities.
Also available is a Membrane Pick with a 130-degree angled tip and non-glare finish on the shaft of the instrument. This item can be ordered using product number SUK01 for 23-gauge and SUK02 for 25-gauge.
In addition, Bausch + Lomb Storz Ophthalmics is introducing the E7523 23-gauge MVR Knife designed for insertion through the 23-gauge cannula, and two new 25-gauge Bipolar Pencils, the E7924 Bipolar Pencil with Tapered Tip and 2-pin connection and the E7925 Bipolar Pencil with Blunt Tip and 2-pin connection.
These additions augment the line of single-use vitreoretinal instruments which already includes: Endgripping Forceps, Asymmetrical Peeling Forceps, Soft Tip Cannulas, MVR Knives and Bipolar Pencils. All of these items have been made available for the 23- and 25-gauge procedures.
