Newly Released Preference Data For Biotrue TM Multi-Purpose Solution
Salt Lake City, UT – Today at the annual meeting of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Bausch + Lomb celebrated the 1-year anniversary of the launch of Biotrue™ multi-purpose solution, with the release of U.S. preference data. These data showed that Biotrue is preferred among patients and eye care professionals (ECPs) when compared to the leading multi-purpose solution.1
In fact, both patients and ECPs have expressed overwhelming satisfaction with Biotrue. Ninety-seven percent of patients who have tried Biotrue1 and 99 percent of ECPs who have recommended it2 were satisfied with the solution. Those individuals reporting satisfaction with Biotrue reported being either somewhat, very, or extremely satisfied with the solution.

Bausch + Lomb conducted a nationwide preference study for Biotrue versus other leading multi-purpose solutions to gauge patient satisfaction.1 In 130 patients who tried both Biotrue and the leading multi-purpose solution, Biotrue was preferred 3:1.1 Eighty-one percent of the 201 patients that tried Biotrue said the solution makes wearing lenses so comfortable they forgot they were wearing contacts and found Biotrue more comfortable than other multi-purpose solutions they had tried.1
In addition to patient preference, Biotrue was shown to provide superior disinfection performance when compared to competitive multi-purpose solutions.3 Laboratory testing3 showed that with the minimum recommended soak time of four hours, Biotrue provided exceptional disinfection as compared to other lens care solutions which require a minimum recommended soak time of six hours. Even with organic soil added to create a more rigorous condition, Biotrue showed exceptional disinfection efficacy against other lens care solutions.3
