There have been a number of news reports regarding Bausch + Lomb’s recent voluntary recall of a single lot of the prescription drug proxymetacaine 0.5 percent Minims Eye Drops Solution in the United Kingdom. Bausch + Lomb takes patient safety very seriously and has been working closely with regulatory authorities in the United Kingdom since we initiated the recall back on December 10, 2012.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• This product is not sold nor manufactured in the United States or Asia Pacific region. It is mainly used in hospitals in the United Kingdom.
• The recall of this prescription eye drop is only happening in the United Kingdom.
• There have been no reports of any adverse events.
• This issue does not impact any other Bausch + Lomb products in any part of the world.
