FOR RELEASE THURSDAY, JUNE 30, 2016
BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, today announced the results of real-world patient experiences for Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses, a monthly replacement silicone hydrogel lens that combines the company’s innovative MoistureSeal® technology, which delivers exceptional end-of-day comfort1, with the 3-Zone Progressive™ design found in Biotrue® ONEday for Presbyopia daily disposable contact lenses, during the annual meeting of the American Optometric Association (AOA) in Boston, MA. The data demonstrates presbyopic patients’ exceptional wearing experience in supporting their lifestyles with Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses, which launched in March.
The data was collected from 339 presbyopic patients nationwide to evaluate Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses among patients wearing contact lenses or spectacles and readers.2

"This data demonstrates how the Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses are providing patient’s outstanding visual performance for the everyday activities they experience in their lives,” said Jill Saxon, OD, director of professional strategy, Bausch + Lomb. “With this innovative technology, eye care professionals can offer comfortable vision to their presbyopic patients, helping them to see clearly without compromise in the comfort of their contact lenses.”
“Having already fit dozens of my presbyopic patients in the Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia lenses, I’m extremely pleased with the feedback I’ve received regarding the excellent comfort and ability to see at the distances my patients need most to support their busy, digitally-focused lives,” said Ben Gaddie, O.D., FAAO from Gaddie Eye Centers in Louisville, KY. “What has been most astounding is the great satisfaction my spectacle-wearing patients, who were once contact lenses wearers that dropped out of lenses, have shared following their lens-wearing experience of Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia. This new multifocal lens is creating great opportunities to help improve our presbyopic patients’ vision and is bringing incredible value into our practice.”
Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses provide presbyopic patients exceptional comfort and outstanding vision at near, intermediate, and distance1 while also providing eye care professionals the convenience of an easy and predictable lens fitting.1 The 3-Zone Progressive™ design utilized in the new Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia contact lenses allows ECPs to achieve an easy, predictable fit across all powers and from patient to patient through consistent add power across the powers.1 Combining this consistency with the need to only use two add powers and using the Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia simplified fitting guide, ECPs are also able to streamline the multi-focal fitting process.1
