New Features Offer Ease of Use, Efficiency
FOR RELEASE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2016
BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, today announced the launch of an enhanced version of its Pinnacle 360™ line of single-use instruments.
“The new Pinnacle 360 line is another example of our commitment to meeting and exceeding the needs of the retina community by continuing to innovate and deliver the best possible products,” said Chuck Hess, vice president and general manager, U.S. Surgical, Bausch + Lomb. “The changes we’ve made to our Pinnacle 360 line provide ease of use and efficiency, and are the direct result of feedback we’ve received from our customers.”
The Pinnacle 360 instruments now feature a new piston, redesigned to provide smooth, consistent actuation. Bausch + Lomb also invested in new technology to design a strong, thinner internal limiting membrane (ILM) forceps that provides surgeons with excellent visualization, allowing them to see down to the tissue as they engage it. Additionally, all Pinnacle 360 instruments are now color-coded according to Bausch + Lomb’s standard gauge size identification, making it easier for surgical staff to select the appropriate instrument and thus improving efficiency.
“The new Pinnacle 360 ILM forceps provides exceptional grip strength and visualization,” said Drew Sommerville, M.D., President of Talley Eye Care and Medical Director of Valley Surgery Center in Evansville, IN. “I also appreciate the tip travel of the instrument, as it gives me great confidence in the grip I have on the membrane during the procedure.”
The enhanced Pinnacle 360 will be available for surgeons to test at the Bausch + Lomb booth (#3026) at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) in Chicago, October 15-18, 2016.
