For the First Time at AAO, Attendees Invited to “Test Drive” the Company’s Surgical Products
FOR RELEASE WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2016
BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, today announced that, for the first time at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) (Oct. 15-18), attendees will have the opportunity to “test drive” it’s latest innovations at a wet lab in the company’s AAO booth (#3026).
“We are thrilled to offer our customers such a unique opportunity for the first time ever at AAO,” said Chuck Hess, vice president and general manager, U.S. Surgical, Bausch + Lomb. “We understand how important it is for surgeons to have the chance to experience a product before they can decide what’s right for them and for their patients, and we believe that once they have the chance to ‘test drive’ our products, they will immediately recognize the advantages they offer.”
During interactive 30-minute sessions, surgeons will gain real time, hands-on experience with the company’s robust surgical product portfolio, including the Stellaris Elite™ platform, a next generation innovative model for both vitreoretinal and cataract surgery in a single system, anticipated to launch in 2017. Unlike traditional large capital equipment, which typically has decade-long life cycles, the Stellaris Elite will offer surgeons a platform that provides innovative upgrades and enhancements every one to two years. The new technology will be developed to grow with surgeons and their practices over time, bolstering their existing technology to provide optimal long-term visual outcomes for their patients.
Also available for test drive will be the VICTUS® femtosecond laser and many of the company’s intraocular lenses (IOLs) and delivery systems, which include the enVista®, Crystalens® AO, TRULIGN® Toric IOLs, and the iSert® delivery system, the market-leading preloaded IOL. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from the engineers and researchers who are responsible for the development of Bausch + Lomb’s surgical suite of technologies and learn pearls and techniques from their peers.
Attendees are also invited to attend a series of instructional courses led by a distinguished group of speakers in the Bausch + Lomb booth. The courses will focus on a variety of topics including corneal refractive screening and femtosecond LASIK pearls.
The full schedule includes:
Saturday, October 15
11:00-Noon: “enVista® IOL: The Clearer Choice” by Anil Shivaram, M.D.;
Sunday, October 16
Monday, October 17
