BAUSCH + LOMB LAUNCHES EXPANDED PARAMETERS OF BAUSCH + LOMB ULTRA® FOR ASTIGMATISM CONTACT LENSES

Expanded Parameter Range to Cover +6.00D to -9.00D in 4 Cylinder Powers

BRIDGEWATER, New Jersey, November 13, 2017 – Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, today announced the launch of expanded parameters of Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Astigmatism contact lenses. This expansion will extend the lens parameter offering to +6.00D to -9.00D in 0.25D steps (in 0.50D steps above -6.00D) in cylinder powers of -0.75D, -1.25D, -1.75D, -2.25D and axes of 10°-180˚ (in 10˚ steps), providing eye care professionals the opportunity to offer more of their astigmatic patients an exceptional toric lens that features all-day comfort, stability, and consistently clear vision.

Results from a survey of contact lens wearers who were prescribed Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Astigmatism contact lenses show that patients overwhelmingly agree that they provide an outstanding lens wearing experience. Specifically:  

• 91% of wearers agreeing the lenses are comfortable all day long; 
• 93% of wearers agreeing the lenses provide consistently clear vision throughout the day;
• 93% of wearers agreeing the lenses reduce halos and glare, even in low-light conditions, and; 
• 96% of wearers agreeing the lenses provide comfortable vision even when looking for a long time at a smartphone or tablet.

Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Astigmatism contact lenses combine MoistureSeal® technology, which helps to maintain 95% of lens moisture for a full 16 hours², and OpticAlign™ design, engineered for stability to promote a successful first fit¹. The OpticAlign™ design was developed after extensively analyzing, testing, and optimizing numerous lens geometries to determine which performed best with the Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® contact lens material. Eye care professionals also report rotation at dispensing of 5 degrees or less for 94% of patients when fitting Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Astigmatism³.
