Bausch & Lomb To Donate Up To $400,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure through ReNu MultiPlus® Solution Campaign
ROCHESTER, N.Y. − Increasing its commitment to raising funding and awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s vision for a world without breast cancer, Bausch & Lomb, one of the globe’s most respected healthcare brands, has created a moving and innovative print advertising campaign that will launch in time for Mother’s Day 2008. The campaign features real people who have gone head-to-head with breast cancer and come out the other end—either as survivors or as relatives who have lost loved ones to the disease.
Bausch & Lomb has committed to raise up to $400,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure through sales of its ReNu MultiPlus® solution and an online campaign at www.ReNuCares.com. Bausch & Lomb will donate $1.00 for every ReNu coupon redeemed and/or unique code entered online, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $300,000. ReNu MultiPlus solution cleans, rinses and provides outstanding disinfection and protein removal for contact lenses.
Appropriately, Bausch & Lomb will also be teaming up with the optometric community in this breakthrough initiative. By supplying leading eye-care professionals throughout the country with in-office displays, $2.50-off coupons and pink plastic lens cases for patient giveaways, the company hopes to activate its core constituency in fighting a disease whose reach affects people from all walks of life.
“As a woman and as an optometrist, I am proud to partner with Bausch & Lomb on this wonderful cause," says Dr. Rhonda Robinson of Ossip-Robinson Optometry and president of the organization Women of Vision. “I want to encourage the entire community to take this opportunity to act together in a substantial way to help eradicate breast cancer.”
Bausch & Lomb’s campaign will launch in time for Mother’s Day in the May issues of Redbook, Cookie, O, The Oprah Magazine, Self, People and Health magazines and run through August 2008. The initiative will culminate in October—Breast Cancer Awareness Month—with online giveaways of a limited-edition Bausch & Lomb Pink Crystallized™ Swarovski Elements Contact Lens Case featuring Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s hallmark ribbon design.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested more than $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
