Unfortunately, counterfeit products, which are falsely labeled to deliberately appear like authentic products, are found across all therapeutic categories in health care, including eye care. Counterfeit products are illegal and can be harmful, as they may contain toxic substances, expired ingredients and little-to-no quantity of the active ingredient. They may even include alternate active ingredients.

When we learn that a counterfeit version of one of our products may be available to consumers, our cross-functional Global Anti-Counterfeit Committee initiates an investigation by taking appropriate disruptive actions that may include, but are not limited to, actively engaging with appropriate regulatory agencies, law enforcement authorities, health care professionals and organizations to help fight against the distribution of counterfeit products, as well as educating people about the serious health threats that can come with them.
